Charles Deluga is a multimedia artist and systems designer based in New York City. His creative practice combines audiovisual synthesis and signal processing, spatial audio, ecoacoustics, and electronics to create immersive contexts for experiencing math. Charles makes software tools to generate and manipulate signals, exploring how technology can be used to translate them between audio and visual domains. Under the alias Geometric Primitive, he uses oscilloscopes, laser sculpture, and multichannel sound to express geometry as a sentient, primordial force. Charles has designed and produced A/V systems for architectural media installations across North America, including the Statue of Liberty Museum and MoMA PS1. He holds a master’s in Music Technology from NYU and a bachelor’s in Economics and Psychology from UVA.
