I was born and have lived my entire life in Ohio USA.
I’ve been interested in programming computers since I was 10 years old.
I started writing code in BASIC back in the late 70s. In 1995, I started using Linux and took a college course in ANSI C and The UNIX Operating System. In 1996, my partner and I started Extra Stimulus Inc. an Internet service providing company in Akron, Ohio USA.
I was introduced to color laser vector display in late 2003, when I was asked to create a laser show for First Night Akron 2004, a New Year’s Eve celebration for The City of Akron.
I immediately connected to the artform and decided to continue writing code for laser display. I called my project LaserBoy and I have been working on it ever since.
I released it as free open source software on April 27th 2008. About that same time I started hosting a forum at https://laserboy.org/forum
I really enjoy getting feedback from people who use LaserBoy from all over the world. I have worked with dozens of artists to help them realize their goals in color vector display and added many, many features to the app as a result.
