Michael Honeycomb is an American audio/visual artist, based in Bangkok since 2010.
Coming from a background in filmmaking he became interested in alternative A/V mediums. Initially coding generative visuals in Processing and playing live shows with sound artists, a more harmonious correspondence between domains became a pivotal pursuit.
Coming across the early work of John & James Whitney, he discovered the parallels in graphic art that have spanned an era of technological evolution. Further exploration of polar coordinate and parametric equations led to an interest in oscilloscope based graphics.
Being an avid synth lover and recreational sound designer, he began experimenting with a eurorack modular system into oscilloscope. The emerging aesthetic is a topography of anarchic textures and euphonic noise periodically finding ground in fundamental forms.
He has since begun working with vector based laser graphics and interactive installations in the continually expanding practice of blending sight and sound.
